What Are Backup Presets?
Backup Presets provide you with a shortcut to completely automate a custom folder structure on import. The Backup Presets can be configured to transfer files directly to the GNARBOX or you have the option to configure cloud uploads with our Dropbox and Frame.io connections.
You can develop your presets using the GNARBOX App and they’ll appear immediately on your GNARBOX. When it comes time to back up, simply connect your memory card to the GNARBOX, select the Backup Preset you want to use, and backup.
You can also select a Default Preset to be used when performing one-touch backups. This allows for greater customization and time savings when backing up.
How to Set Up a Backup Preset
- In the GNARBOX App, select Presets from the bottom navigation.
- Select Create New.
- Type the folder you wish to create. Press Add to add the folder to the preset.
- Repeat step 3 until you are satisfied with your Folder Preset path. If you wish to include a date stamp in your folder preset, select the Dynamic + icon. If you wish to remove a folder, simply tap the X on the folder.
- Select Next when finished.
- If you would like your Preset to upload files to the cloud (Dropbox or Frame.io), choose Add Configuration. Your GNARBOX must be connected to the Internet via Home Mode or ethernet in order to access this feature. If you would not like to utilize the cloud feature tap Next and skip to Step 10.
- Select the cloud account you would like to configure for the Preset. If your cloud account is not yet connected select Manage Cloud Accounts and visit our walkthroughs for connecting a Dropbox or Frame.io account.
- Navigate to the desired folder within your cloud account. Tap Select Destination to continue.
- Tap Next when you have finished configuring your cloud destination.
- You will be prompted to give your preset a name. This will be utilized to differentiate this preset from others. Select Done when finished.
Your new Backup Preset is now available for use when importing files.
Backing up with Backup Presets is currently only available via the on-board screen.
